I just took my blood sugar before my second shake of the day.  It was 151 which isn't so bad.  I need to tweak that insulin amount a bit more.  I'm sipping a cup of broth now.
After a total mood crash last night I feel better this morning.   I checked my blood sugar and it is 118.  Really good for me upon waking.  I took 30 units of novolog and had a protein shake.  Test, test, test? We'll see how this works and if it controls the sugar or dips it to low...or what. I'm already craving coffee.  I guess it's the only thing with a lot of flavor I feel I can have for a treat.

Ok...day started out right.  I had my protein shakes, a couple cups of broth...

I laid down for a nap around 3 and woke up a couple hours later with my blood sugar at 66 and dropping.  Magic 66, evidentally...same as last night.  I felt all woozy and my vision was weird.  Drank a bit of juice.  Than I had 2 shakes in succession because one just wasn't cutting it.  Bad.  I have to just give it time!  Stop overreacting to the lows!  Crazy.  UGH...this is the frustrating part I was remembering from last time.  I just hope I don't start with the headaches.

Wow...11 days.  I just looked at that and got a shiver.  This is real.

Yesterday I had 4 protein shakes, 2 popsicles and then blew it because my sugar dropped and I had to drink the juice to bring it up.  Not sure the calories that added.

Just woke up with my blood sugar at 66 and going down.  I have drank  a glass of juice. I'll recheck in a few minutes.  I forgot to post that my starting weight is 411.  I am cutting this post short because I need to get to a more comfortable chair and ride out this low blood sugar!
I'm posting this a day late...yesterday on the 6th I had 4 protein shakes at 210 calories each and 2 sugar free popsicles at 15 calories each.  I also had 4 cups of decaf coffee with a bit of non dairy creamer in them.  The total calories for that day was roughly 900 calories, I have to see if I can figure out the calories in the creamer.  The package says none but there is corn syrup solids in it...can't be 0!

EDIT:  I found a link that says non-dairy creamer has 10 calories per teaspoon.  So my count was about right. That's a lot, though...have to cut down on how much I use or find another way to lighten my coffee.

Yesterday I started my two week pre-op diet.  On August 20, 2015, I'm scheduled to have Gastric Sleeve Surgery. As part of this journey I want to have this space to record my food intake and if I need to make notes or just talk myself through something I have a place to do that. I'm starting this diet at 411 lbs. I have 2 weeks of this in order to shrink the size of my liver to better enable the surgery. Good luck, Me!
